How I did it: I signed up through a program in China that enrolled me in a college for Chinese courses, and arranged interviews for teaching jobs for me.  I went to Beijing and just lived it up!!  Everything is very cheap, and you should get a bit of Mandarin into your head before you go, but it's worth it just for the experience.  I wouldn't live there longer than I did, 5 months, but it's worth it to see and travel, and you can make so… Read how I did it…

How to pierce my own lip

How I did it: I had been considering a lip piercing for a while, but was trying to decide where to get it.  I had a safety pin, and was pressing it against my lip to see where would look the best.  When I took my hand away it stuck in.  It hadn't hurt and I was curious if I could do it myself.  I just kept pressing slowly, and it eased through my lip.  It didn't hurt, and it didn't bleed, but getting it out the back was slightl… Read how I did it…

How to kiss a stranger

How I did it: We kept meeting eyes all night, but my friends decided to go to another bar, so I walked up to him and told him where we would be if the place got boring.  He showed up there a while later and we ended up kissing, and eventually saying farewell on the lovely streets of Dublin, parting without ever knowing the other's name.  A stranger's kiss is a moment you cannot taint with bad memories.  It's something you can always look… Read how I did it…

1 Year in the Making so far... 3 months ago

I’ve been working out the plot line for over a year, starting and reworking until I’m utterly confused, with a million ideas. It started as one book, and I knew the plot in my sleep. Now it’s a trilogy and I’m finally working through the first book, which takes place between the second and third books. It’s worth every exhausting moment and I haven’t even gotten past my over-editing yet!!!

If you have the idea and the writing skill, never give up, even if it’s 10 years in the making. If the story changes, it’s only because you’re perfecting each moment and every feeling. :)
