I'm doing 38 things
So I took all spring and summer of 2011 to check out and fix my credit. I knew there was some old identity theft in the past, and though I thought I cleared it off ages ago, a few items were still there. Then there was the couple of old accounts that were bad, and I had to pay those off too. WHEW! All paid off, false stuff removed, and now my credit ratings are in the “Excellent” category of being above 720 each (all 3 agencies)!
Meanwhile, I’ve been looking online and looking online and looking online, while thinking that getting pre-approved for a loan might be super scary, hard, or anything but easy. But you don’t know till you try, right? I contacted a few banks, got the laundry list of items they require (lots of paperwork, taxes, paycheck stubs, etc), then sent it all off! I got pre-approved from BOTH banks very, very quickly. That was so easy. The trick is just having good credit.
Finally, I’m continuing to look while I continue to build up my down payment… I’m getting close!
