Lame. 12 months ago

Okay, so my fabulous job working for my dad isn’t nearly as fabulous as I thought it would be. I guess I should have realized that my abusive father that treats me like a child would do the same damn thing once I got into the office.

Sorry, but my job description does not say that I have to be my father’s punching bag. I am not getting paid nearly enough to deal with this.

I’m applying to new jobs and will hopefully get out of this hellhole shortly.

Now saving for retirement 15 months ago

I’m making enough to live, have fun and save. I’m going to open a Roth IRA in a couple of months (because my company won’t give me a 401K until I’ve worked here for a year).

Oddly enough, working with my father. 15 months ago

Okay, so it’s not going to be a long-term career, but I’m very happy working as a business development representative for my dad. We’re an office of two and I have a good amount of downtime. My commute isn’t joy-inducing by any means, but this goal wasn’t “find a tolerable commute.”
