Brown-bag vs Full lunch 2 years ago

I no longer go to a cafeteria for lunch, since the prices are sky-high and the quality of food might have been better. Instead, I bring a couple of fruits and a rye-bread sanwich from home, which is so much cheaper and healthier. I tried bying frozen ready lunches, but they smell when I heat them in the microwave, they are on the costly side and have more calories then I really need. Now that I got used to fruit-and-sandwich menu, I don’t have to think where to buy food on the way to work, don’t spend time in crowded cafeteria and (what’s even more important) don’t eat sugar, butter, mayo and sweets. And it’s less then a dollar per day!

Walk and be free 2 years ago

Today I walked 7 km in the morning, all the way through the center of St.Petersburg. What a pity I didn’t have my camera with me this time.
It’s one of the things I enjoy most of all, long walks, discovering new sights in my city, feeling myself a stranger, a careless tourist with a camera. A frothy capuccino in a sunlit cafe, the chill and breathtaking fresness of the wind. It makes me feel so free and open to changes, as if the dust is blown away.
I wish I could share that magic with my husband, but he’s a heavy sleeper and an early morning walk is a quite torture for him.
Anyway, I can share a glimpse of this feeling through photography.

Save money (read all 2 entries…)
Untitled 2 years ago

Frugal, frugal, frugal.
I have to stop spending money on things like eating out and clothes I don’t wear and cosmetics I don’t use. I have to save for a maternity leave, and get my home furnished, and get a car, and pay mortgage. OMG there’s so much ahead.
