How I did it: I read a book that changed my life forever. I'm still not perfect, but what a difference this book made. It completely changed my heart. How I did it: This is how we did it. The only thing we owe on is our home, and our mortgage is less than most people pay for rent. We have no other debt whatsoever. Even when my husband lost his job earlier this year we refused to use a credit card, and we didn't. Create a budget. This is the home budget we used. How I did it: I tried to take a picture every day and then tried to download the images when I could and process them when I could. It was too time consuming choosing and processing. Maybe I took too many. It was just too hard to decide what to take a picture of and to try to remember to do it every day.I honestly didn’t enjoy it. This was a major change for me. I’m really glad we did it. I wish now we would have done more color in the living room/dining room combo. We’ll see, though, maybe we can warm it up with accessories.

I really want to warm up our home with some color.
We finally painted the walls a color other than white after 18 years. Now, I wish I would have chosen a different color. lol I chickened out and went with a neutral warm beige color thinking we would be able to change the curtains, rugs, etc. with different colors and change the look of the room…you know, less of a commitment. I never should have looked at that Pottery Barn catalog.
We did paint the kitchen a warm burnt orange color, and I LOVE it. I wish now I had done our combination living room and dining room that color.
It’s the My Life As Art Photo Journal Project. I came up with this idea after never being able to complete the Project 365. lol I’ve really enjoyed this so far and have loved journaling about our life and taking more artsy type pictures to go with it. I am going to make a coffee table book and get copies for both of my children.
