I’ve been trying this out for the past week, and I definitely plan to keep this up for the rest of my life. I already eat very healthfully, but since adding the green smoothies in for breakfast, I’ve been feeling amazing!
My skin is clearing up a lot, I feel more energetic and upbeat, and just have an overall positive vibe going on that feels a lot stronger than before I started with the green smoothies.
What I usually put in my mix: a banana or 2, some mixed berries (usually blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries)some frozen pomegranate kernels, half a cucumber, 4 leaves romaine lettuce, 10 leaves lacinto kale, about a handful of cilantro, 2 stalks celery, ground flax seed, unsweetened hemp milk, and brown rice protein powder.
I’ve also made this with just fresh berries, a banana, arugula, avocado, almond milk, and some romaine and that also tasted fantastic, and might be better for those who can’t handle something with a lot of greens.
I also use a vitamix blender, but have had great results using a regular blender at my parent’s house. If anyone is thinking about trying this, just do it, you won’t regret it.

I’ve been picking at things every since I was a little kid. I’ve got quite a few scars from little trips and falls and whatnot that I just couldn’t stop picking at. I just loved it! I don’t mind my scars from childhood that actually represent real accidents that happened, but I definitely don’t want any new ones! Especially not on my face, which is where this terrible habit has carried over to. I’ve been trying to solve the problem by eating well and being good to my skin so I don’t have acne anymore, but when I found this goal I realized that my acne may never go away, and even if it does, I should stop making it worse than it actually is by trying to pick and squeeze everything out of my skin. gross, I know.
Luckily my boyfriend helps me out by saying “don’t pick!” when he catches me doing it subconsciously. He does it out of love, especially because he has scars from picking. Plus, I still catch him trying to pop open ingrown hairs and even boils before. So we trade off with helping each other.
Anyway, lately my weakness has been with blackheads. My skin looks fine from a distance, but up close I’ll have icky black heads, mostly on my cheeks. So I try and get rid of them, and about half the time this results in making matters worse. I’ve tried using exfoliating scrubs to get rid of them, which hasn’t been very successful. Anyone else got any tips on getting rid of them without picking?

I’ve been doing this for a few years, but decided, hey why not check it off as something I’ve done! Not only do I think this is “worth it” but I feel that every girl/woman should track her cycle from the moment she starts. Obviously not everyone does that, and I didn’t track mine from the start either, but I would recommend for women to do so. It really helps with gyno visits, predicting your next period, knowing when you are fertile, and just knowing your body. Lately I’ve also made marks when I experience pms type symptoms like strange mood swings and food cravings. It’s definitely been interesting, and helps me calm down during said mood swings, since I can look at my chart and say “see, this is just pms, things are ok.”
