I’m so happy I’ve finally done this because I have had the experience of the two dharma classes closest to where I live.
The Kadampa class had a discussion, guided meditation and tea & biscuits afterwards. The Zen class had zazen (‘sitting’, i.e. silent meditation) and a discussion but I had to leave early. It also clashes with another regular appointment.
Despite this, I feel I can make now make an informed decision as to which tradition/meditation techniques I want to continue with! If I do want to give Zen another try I will visit the third group (zen, but in someone’s private home). At the moment I prefer the atmosphere of the NKT group even though it is quite heavy on altar figurines. grin

I am still spending far too much time, ummm-ing and ahhh-ing without actually making any further investment decisions. I’ve made two good decisions, but there is more work needed. I have to make a list of principles and base my choices on them.

I’m very glad I’ve done this, I have a much better idea about my financial goals now! Obviously this is an ongoing project.

I will spend half an hour each day to think about my goals, meditate or think about how I can be more effective. I used to think an hour would be a good idea but that’s probably too much.
There is this task list called the ‘1001 Day Project’, where you do 101 tasks in 1001 days (=2.5 years). I would love to try this but I have a feeling it’s going to be just another one of my lists that I will never do anything off – unless I really plan for it!
So before I do this 1001 list I’m going to work on the to-do list I already have.

I’ve finally got into a routine where I can honestly say I’m working out at least 4 times a week!

I took 2 pairs of glasses to my local optician last week, hopefully someone will be able to put them to good use!

I am much less stressed now that I’ve done it – it only took me half a morning. I just listed my balances on a bit of paper and then filed it all online, so easy!
Next time I’ll do them in April, that’s my NYR.
