The Asian Universities Debating Championship was held at Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia. It was definitely fun what with interesting people from 8 asian countries (Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Kazakhstan), nice place, and, of course, challenging debates! =) It also made me more interested in current events (I’m talking about genuine interest here), forums, debate shows on tv, biographies of accomplished people (currently reading Mahatma Gandhi’s), etc. It also made me explore the Philippines not just as a local, but also as a tourist and I discovered that the Philippines is a beautiful country after all. In short, it made me proudly Filipino while helping me appreciate the culture of other countries. Can’t wait to travel more!
