I used Diet Coke. Surprisingly good. I had to have two!

How I did it: I keep track on my week-at-a-glance calendar of how many workouts I've done. I've been keeping track for years now, and it makes me feel like I'm making progress on a goal instead of the same old same old exercise day in and day out. I used to reward myself every 25 workouts but haven't done that in awhile. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I got tour information on the internet at http://www.wrightinwisconsin.org/, and found information about places to stay, places to eat, etc. on www.wikitravel.org. Our favorite part was the tour of the Hillside School and Studio. We did not, however, tour Taliesin because of the age requirement (children 12 and up only). Read how I did it…

1. I was a classroom helper in Ramona’s classroom. Those kids were antsy today! But it is always fun being in there and hearing them talk, and seeing what a wonderful job her teachers do.
2. Ramona and I read a book called, So You Want to be President? It was a cute book, but also it was a comedy of errors because every time I read the title, Ramona said, “No, I don’t want to be President!” I think she started to think I was unteachable on that point.
3. Festival of Leftovers.

1. When I was picking up Ramona, a friend told me that our doctor was having an H1N1 immunization clinic all day until 5. I was able to get immunizations for myself and all three girls with minimal hassle.
2. I played the CD with Ramona’s new violin piece on it during lunch, and then when I told Ramona it was time to practice her violin, she ran to get the instrument! Nice to see that enthusiasm. She’s making good progress, too.
3. I took the kids to Winkie’s after their immunizations, even though everyone but M chose the nasal spray. I guess I’m a softy when it comes to treats. Ramona got a new My Little Pony that she adores.
4. “Modern Family”! That is such a great show.

1. Ramona told me, “Mmm, Mommy, you smell like you took a shower!” That girl will turn my head with all that flattery.
2. Festival of leftovers for dinner. Love that.
3. More work on a painting while Ramona was at school. I really enjoy painting.
11-15-09
1. Ramona wanted to go grocery shopping with me, so she and P came along. Ramona used one of the child-sized carts at the Outpost, and she absolutely loved putting things in it and pushing it around. She ran into only one person, and thankfully that was me.
2. For Ramona’s homework, we disguised a paper turkey so that s/he wouldn’t get eaten. We disguised ours as a mermaid, and s/he turned out very cute. Ramona’s favorite parts were the lipstick, eyelashes, and belly button. I liked the long hair, sparkly mermaid tail, and seaweed.
3. Ramona’s violin lesson went pretty well and she’s learning a new song. Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star!

1. P and Ramona and I went to see the new Orthopaedic Hospital. It’s much nicer and bigger than the old place. It was fun seeing where he’s going to be working (and where I might someday have surgery, although Ramona didn’t like that idea).
2. After touring the hospital, we went out for Mexican food. Delicious stuffed poblano peppers. Mmmm.
3. Watched “The Wizard of Oz” with P and Ramona. Ramona had never seen it before, and has been singing a lot of the songs ever since.
11-16-09
1. P’s first day in the new Orthopaedic Hospital went pretty well. It was a long day for him, but I was glad it went well because I know he was stressed out about it.
2. Worked on a painting while Ramona was at school. I’m hoping to finish this one soon.
3. My hand didn’t hurt after a fair bit of Sunday knitting.
1. A and Ramona were home from school. A helped me clean out the refrigerator, which is a job I hate above most other jobs, but it was great having her help. I think it was enlightening for A, too, and might end the trend of bottles and jars put on their side to leak all over the shelves.
2. A and I also watched “Glee” and then she read to me from a Time or Newsweek article about best inventions of the year. We had fun musing and laughing about some of them (a penguin robot? an environmentally friendly car engineered to sound like the vehicles in “Bladerunner”?). It was an enjoyable day, and some nice almost one-on-one time with A.
3. Ramona and I read the books she got from the book fair. Butterflies and Moths has spectacular photography, and some information even Ramona didn’t know about butterflies and moths.
