My favorite part is when his second wife leaves him and he trashes her immaculate room. What fun! I already knew what “Rosebud” meant from the start, which took away the suspense. Still enjoyable. Sixty movies down! Forty left!

Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint are mesmerizing in this film. Hitchcock is truly a brilliant director. The crop-dusting scene is marvelously suspenseful and I love it when the plane finally hits a truck and explodes! It looks a bit funny when the couple is being chased across a Mount Rushmore set. I never knew that Martin Landau could be such a spectacular villian.
Geez. I am a bit disappointed. Is that wrong? Wouldn’t the always-enjoyable “Fargo” have been a better choice? “The English Patient” is much more epic, I guess. Must have been all the sandy love scenes. It was a pleasant surprise to see Naveen Andrews from “Lost” as the mysterious and sexy Sikh landmine-scout, Kip. The romantic scenes between Katherine and Count Almasy were compelling, but they were few and far between. My favorite part is near the end when the Count has to return to the cave to retrieve Katherine’s body. Poor guy.
