After a 2 year stint without a checkup, I took the morning off from work and went to my appointment. A couple x-rays and probings later, the dentist decided my wisdom teeth needed to go. A month later, my oral surgeon (who knew i would ever have an oral surgeon) did his thing, and now I have these gaps where teeth used to be.
It sounds gross and painful, and it was, but if I had gone to the dentist earlier on, they probably could have salvaged the teeth with at least a filling. So, go to the dentist kiddos!
