Feeling better already.

Yesterday was my first day ‘on the wagon’ and I already feel much better. It wasn’t difficult atall. On the weight watchers point system, but I’m having the slim fast shakes for breakfast (so that I’m less rushed in a morning). They are three points. I’m currently sticking to 20 points a day and yesterday I was able to do that by having the shake for breakfast (3), carrot and lentil soup (1.5) with 2 slices of toast (1) followed by a carrot and orange cake slice (0.5) Then for dinner a decent portion of Tesco Light Choice’s moussaka (5)(which was YUM and really filling) and a mound of brocolli (0)For dessert I had a really yummy weight watchers frozen chocolate brownie mousse dessert which really ticked the box of satisfying my sweet indulgence cravings (3). I was shocked that I had only eaten 14 points and was even able to indulge for a seond time in a WW chocolate caramel shortbread (2.5) later that day. I really didn’t need to eat more than that so I stopped there at 16.5 points I’ve been drinking soda water with fresh lime as its points free, keeps me hydrated and leaves me feeling full without stealing my points allowance away at every sip.

Anyway, I woke up this morning feeling much better, less sluggish and less bloated. I know I have been eating way too much recently, more than my body needs (or even wants) inside it. The points system is great because it completely removes that willingness to go back for seconds, since you know that if you do, you simply aren’t allowed dessert. So yesterday I feel like I ate the right amount of food for me, and my body is obviously happy with that.

survive my long distance relationship
Has to be done

I’m in the first few days of a three month LDR with my boyfriend who I lived with for the last year. He’s in Australia and I am in England so we cant meet up face to face atall during those three months. We also have a heck of a time distance to contend with.

I know its going to be tough, but I also know that we’re going to get through it and be stronger than ever, its just something we have to do as part of our journey towards the future we want to share.

So far the hardest point has been reaching out for him to cuddle in the middle of the night, then being woken up by the realisation that there isn’t anybody next to me.

become a teacher
Interview for Graduate Scheme!

I just got an interview for Teach First – If I get it then I will spend the next 2 years working in a problem secondary school and being paid a salary while I work towards my PGCE, whcih gives me qualified teacher status, and a fully funded masters. It would also mean the opportunity to work in a school where I would really be needed and could potentially have a real impact and change the world for some young people. I’m really excited and I really hope I do well at interview.
