So far in the class we are only doing sculptures which is great in terms of technique. But I really can’t wait until I get to blow glass. I know I will trully have to master it before i attempt it but I really want to make a reticello!!

Progress

I’ve now lost close to 26 pounds…well 26.4 but who is counting? lol
Losing 70 lbs doesn’t sound as horrific as having to lose 100. At least mentally. I decided to brainwash myself and take a graduate level nutrition class. I don’t need it to graduate from engineering. I just hope that by learning more I’ll make good choices. Habits are just a series of choices and so far my weight loss has been based on making better choices consistently than I did before starting this in August.

Reading the book “Mindless Eating” has really opened my eyes to little habits I had that I was not even remotely aware of.

Feeling Good

Down another 3 pounds for a 13.5 total. Biggest difficulty was unexpected, my friends. Gotta start drinking less..going out less..or maybe ordering water at the bar? (blasphemy they say).

Great week at the gym. I was really consistent. Below are my weights. I’m going to try to work in more classes like step and perhaps yoga. We’ll see. It’s super hard to go 2x a day but it’s really really effective. Oh that and I guy I refer to as “Mr. Beautiful”. I love looking at him reflected in the mirror while I squat ( my fav but most tortured lift). He’s super motivation. It’s hilarious bc I’ll never talk to him and he likely doesn’t know I breathe.

Because the camera adds 10 pounds

14 because I love the idea of graduating and wearing a gorgeous sundress in high heels across the stage ..under the robes, ropes, and hood of course!

That way when my mom gets an 8×10 and frames it, I could potentially walk by it and smile whenever I visit.

being big kinda sucks as a lady

so that i know what it feels like for once in my life to be “small” or delicate or dainty.

While I’ve always been innately strong and athletic…I get kinda pissed when I’m the one who always has to open a jar for my friends or help them move something.

Like seriously…can’t anyone respect a manicure? haha

Got a planet beach membership for a year! That forces me to go at least 3x a week. Kinda like a gym membership. Kinda silly to pay and not go right?

so I’ve been to the gym 5 of 7 days this week…on 4 days doing two a days with cardio and lifting at night. And I have a nice and sometimes cute workout partner who makes me laugh.

I’m going to say this is complete!

Busy week

This past week as been a true turning point for me.

I went to the gym 5/7 days and I have a nutritionist. I was serious so I went for the best….she’s the nutritionist for the Saints *no jokes about preseason losses please =) *

I have scheduled appointments with her every two weeks. She tailored what I should be eating and can choose from those things. She is making this completely integrated into my lifestyle…even my wine. The best part is nothing is off limits!!! I can have ice cream…but I have to think portion control. You may think that’s a no-brainer. But…as a former college athlete ( track) I always have eaten whatever i wanted whenever I wanted.

I am considering getting a personal trainer. Does anyone here have one? Is it worth the money?

being picked last for kickball sucks as an adult. I mean wow I wasn’t even last as a kid. Not even once!

joined an overpriced fitness center today.

it think this is similar to overpriced makeup. Bc it’s more expensive I’m forced to use it or else feel horribly guilty for wasting money.

a few good reasons to start off with...

1. For my health, people who are overweight are have a higher mortality/morbidity rate

2. better sex ( maybe that should be number 1?)

3. For clothing. I have great style and great taste, imho. However they don’t make very sylish big girl clothes. grrr.

4. So that i can run in the Crescent City Classic 10k in under 40 min.

5. I swear people were nicer to me when I was thinner and therefore pretty or more worthy. Society sucks ass.

6. Because I love playing tennis in a skirt.

7. So that it’s easier to wear high heels.

8. So that my white lab coat doesn’t look like a circus tent.

9. so i won’t be afraid to go to mardi gras balls …damn those beautiful hand beaded figure forming gowns. I want to wear them too!

10. So that men look at me the way the used to.

weakness

I’m weak. So very weak. There was a seminar at work today and often food is provided especially if it’s a pharma. Salad..good….and then the weakness of warm brownies. I was powerless I confess.

Anyone have suggestions on overcoming a food addiction? I was good from July 2 2007 till now. I’m just so frustrated with myself.
