I had started riding my old college mountain bike several weeks ago. I just LOVE bicycling. It is the most fun I have ever had exercising. Anyway, my old bike began to show the effect of years of neglect as the chain snapped, the rear freewheel (cogs) needed to be replaced, the rear wheel was cheaper to replace than fix the bent axle and new tubes and tires. I decided that instead of fixing that one right now (I still plan to fix it up) I would just get a new bike. I went a bit overboard but it is only 6 months membership to the gym so I think I will get my money’s worth. Now the wait until my size/color/model arrives next week!

How I did it: LOTS of research. There really is nothing about the quality of different heat pumps so the research fell to the installers. I got several different quotes and in the end went with an 18 SEER heat pump that had a $1700 manufacturer rebate, $350 electric company credit and $1500 tax credit. It was interesting how different companies quoted the same job differently. No one would do a "load calculation" on the house (the dual stage heat p… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I had a pen that I had selected for this goal many months ago. I kept planning to leave the pen at my favorite coffee shop and they ended up closing before I managed to do this. Well, I found a new coffee shop with wonderful outside seating. (http://purplemooninc.com/ ) On Christmas eve I was sitting outside with my pen and I felt uneasy about just leaving it without knowing it had a chance of finding a home. I was trying to work up … Read how I did it…
How I did it: I had just too many things in my garage. It took me a while to truly decide to run with this but when I did my first item was sold less than 12 hours later. Read how I did it…

I made this for our club challenge. The body is made from eucalyptus. It is just about 5” tall. I have been asked to make several other. The inside is actually hollowed out wider than the opening – that was the challenge for the club.
This is from a kit and took me several nights to glue everything together. The guy who sells these has a laser to cut all the tiny wooden pieces.
Then turning it was nerve racking! The kit was $50 and here I was putting a sharp knife to it while it was spinning @ 2000 rpm!
