How I did it: I had never considered travelling for a long period. I always thought - money, my career, my life plan...! I was so uptight and ridiculous - the trip was exactly what I needed! How I did it: The best way I have found to lose weight is by - wait for it - counting calories and exercising. Online food diaries are tedious, but definitely work if you're committed. Another book I found helpful was The Beck Diet Solution, which helps you to re-educate yourself and your attitude to food. I was guilty of binge eating and "Oh, I'll just be really good this week - no wheat dairy blah blah blah", but I just kept gaining… Read how I did it…
I think my happiness (or more accurately, my unhappiness) is a function of my attitude to life. More and more I have come to understand that attaining happiness is not about dwelling in depression, but choosing to be positive.
Since I got my bike and am cycling to work this has become much more achievable! I love my bike. I have also signed up to Pilates and British Military Fitness – both kind of miserable, but working out new muscles!
