I recently reread A Clockwork Orange, and I realized how many obtuse words Burgess uses. Think it’s possible to bring back “droogs” instead of peeps and “ill in my gulliwuts” instead of sick to my stomach? While we’re at it, let’s start using shebeen instead of pub.

How I did it: I was working full-time at a cafe in Philadelphia. When not at work I would ramble around town, documenting everything I saw in one of the several journals I kept in my pack. At night I would ride about 3 miles to a place in the woods. The area was called Fairmount Park. It was secluded and safe from the local "crack heads" and other dangerous types. Occasionally I would get a curious jogger who would check to see if I was okay, but for t… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I ordered a glass carboy online, and went to my local homebrew store for the rest of the equipment (bottling bucket, blowoff hose, bottles, auto-psyphon, sanitizer, etc). The first time I brewed, I used what is called a "kit." Kits are just boxes with premeasured ingredients and instructions included. They are a perfect way to get used to the process of brewing. You are also guaranteed to have no leftover ingredients with a kit. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I had broken up with my girlfriend for the 2nd time and was feeling a little depressed, so I left town, got a new job, took up a couple of new hobbies, made new friends, and become a better person. It was by occupying my time and getting a lovable dog that allowed me to be happy with myself more than ever! Read how I did it…

I’ve brewed a bunch of kits (7) and made three batches (2 wheat, 1 I.P.A.) of my own recipes by going to the local homebrew store and mixing/matching ingredients. There must be a better way to make a more original tasting beer… How difficult is it to grow and mash fresh HOPs? I live in Pennsylvania and I hear it isn’t too hard to grow them around here… Next batch will be a lager for this time of year!
I just signed up to take an 8 week EMT-B course in philadelphia! I figure if I get my EMT-Basic, then I can train as a wilderness guide and get WFR (wilderness first responder) certified later on… If nothing else, the EMT course is a great life skill to have. I’m excited!
