I had my beautiful son in May 2011. With him, I gained about 45 pounds. Big, happy 9 pounder as a result! Thanks to nursing (I am still doing this actually), I initially dropped off 30 pounds in a few months post delivery. I still have a stubborn 10 pounds (and inches) that I want OFF my body! As a full-time working mom with a very active 15 month old, it has been challenging to incorporate exercise, but I’m slowly doing this. Also, I am on a (healthy) liquid diet where I’m drinking two meal replacement shakes a day, plus healthy snacks and one healthy meal. I’m a week into this experiment! I’m giving myself until November to check in and see if there have been any changes; I’m excited! :D

So, it is official (and has been for some time)... This past August 2010, I apparently became pregnant! It wasn’t until late in September during my 8th week of pregnancy that it was confirmed by both a home pregnancy test and a doctor’s exam that our fate of parenthood was sealed :D I am currently close to 7 months pregnant, due in May, and couldn’t be more ecstatic! My husband and I are excited to welcome our son into the world soon and have been busy getting essentials for his nursery, going on our final twosome dates and just mentally adjusting to the new change that is soon to occur! I know in my original entry I expressed doubt about motherhood, but quite honestly the moment the home pregnancy test revealed its life altering answer, I can’t begin to express the absolute JOY and exhilaration that immediately surged through me when I saw the words “pregnant”! The whole pregnancy has been an absolute pleasure albeit the couple months of nausea and food aversions, but truly, I am enjoying every moment of this journey and am beyond grateful to share such a special rite of passage with my wonderful husband!
I:
- ran 3 days for 2 miles each
- did my “circuit training”
- did many sets/reps of push ups, sit ups, flutter kicks, squats and lunges
- weight trained 2 days
