It turns out this is going to be very expensive. I have about 150-300 pages per year, and more than five years of blog. That’s going to require multiple big books. Maybe it’s not worth it after all, but I still want to see “my books” on my shelf.

What a relief to finally have found somebody I can work with. I have my second appointment with her today and I’m actually looking forward to it. I found her in the KAP list from NCSF, and none of the “hot button” words I mentioned in the initial appointment seemed to faze her. She had me get a book called “The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook” that I hope will be helpful. Today we’ll discuss how to use it – though I have to discuss my mother with her soon, too.
I really want to have a widget on my homepage that will pull one of my 43 Things at random. Or maybe it could pull from all of my 43’s – a random Thing, Person, or Place. I haven’t figured out how to do this.
I got another Kadoatie. Now I’m up to two. I am using the trick of keeping one type of food in my inventory – I am using snow foods. Unfortunately the feed I did was a 20k item, but hey, I got it!
I got some paw prints on my leg, one for each of the cats I’ve had who died this year. Wu died in January and I got a paw print for her in March. Toadstool died in July and I got a paw print for her a week later. I hope not to need any more paw prints for a long time. Meanwhile, I do still want another tattoo, so I’m going to leave this Thing up. I really want to have a deaf-related tattoo, I just have to figure out what exactly.
I discovered that it’s going to take a $100 deposit to get an appointment for touching up my tattoo. Just to get an appointment! So I’m planning to get a different tattoo first at a local studio, and then I’ll see about getting my original one touched up. They said they’d have to redo the whole thing because they use a different ink now that wouldn’t look the same, so they just have to redo it all. Sigh…
And I did it. 25,000 words exactly! (I came up six words short at the end of my last piece, so I tucked in a few more adjectives.)
I’ve been doing well so far – I’ve got more than 20,000 words. My goal of posting 900+ words daily isn’t going to happen because I had a major event scheduled this past weekend, but that’s okay – I think I’ll be happy if I knock out at least 25,000 words.
I e-mailed the studio and it turns out they will have to charge me for the touch-up. I want it anyway, though, so I think I will make an appointment for sometime in February.
tikva pointed me to an excellent idea: NonFicWriMo. Not everyone can write fiction, so February 2006 is going to be a month of writing for the rest of us! There are two goal options – an essay a day or 25,000 words for the month (you can also choose to do both). I think I’m going to take the “do both” route and aim to produce a 900-word essay daily. Figuring out what to write about won’t be easy; I could take the sneaky way out and use things I’ve already written but I don’t think I want to do that. Instead maybe I will use a letter of the alphabet for a topic heading each day, although that leaves two days unsettled.
It took 10 months to get my results for the CT test, but it was well worth the wait – because I passed! The raise I got from my agency after passing the test was even larger than I expected, and it feels so good to be certified.
I am about as sedentary as a person can get without being immobile. I have an elliptical trainer at home, but I almost never use it. I discovered that Curves would be awfully expensive, so I have decided to put $5 (of my own money) into a travel/reward fund for every time I work out at home.
I don’t really have anywhere I want to go with an RV, but I want to try one. I also don’t know how to use campsite hookups or anything like that. But they are really cool and I would like to give it a shot.
I hate water – I wonder if Crystal Lite and Aquafina FlavorSplash are good enough. Just plain water is so boring! I have cut back on my soda a lot (always diet soda anyway) but I am just finding water so difficult.
Amazing – I actually passed my CT test! So now I just need my CI! Holy cow! (By the way, this is equivalent to a lawyer passing the bar, or a doctor doing a residency…it’s the major achievement for ASL interpreters.)
I’ve already used LJBook.com to export my writing to PDF format. When I did the whole thing the resulting file was too big for Cafepress to handle, so I split it up by year. I now have several PDF files and all I need to do is spiffy them up for Cafepress, and then I can have a book I wrote.

I’ve had joint pain my whole life, and while I have mostly become used to it, I really think I would benefit from a chiropractor. I don’t believe they can cure the common cold, but I do think they’d help with joint pain.
I need to find somebody who can handle alternative lifestyles. I don’t think many therapists mind homosexuality anymore, but talking about kink issues might give a few the wrong idea. I don’t need to be told that my kink is the root of all my problems, because I know it’s not. I need somebody who understands that.
I got my tattoo done at Dragon Moon in December 1999. It was five hours of sheer hell, so when it came time for my touchup after six weeks, I didn’t go. It’s an all-black piece, so there is definite shading that could be fixed.
