Some really great new books at the library about canning, preserves, jams and chutneys. I have a nice big pot to work with, now I just need to pick up enough jars.

How I did it: Most states offer motorcycle training classes. I took one in CA, it was $100 for those under 21 and $200 for anyone older (I think it was called CC Rider). It only took one weekend to learn! They set you up with a bike to ride for the class, so you don't even need to own one yet. If you damage it — oh well, that's not yours to worry about! But you'll do great. The class is 1/2 in the classroom and 1/2 in practice. They start out the riding… Read how I did it…
How I did it: As part of our Round-the-World trip, my husband and I spent about 6 months in Asia. We toured on a tight budget ($50/day for both of us together) with two backpacks. Though we used a RTW ticket to get to Asia, it's by no means necessary. The amazing thing we learned is that all you need to do is get there and everything else is cheap, fun and easy. Got this project successfully off the ground as of August 1st!
To prep, we researched some books about homebrewing, and found many at our local library. Found a brewing supply store nearby and purchased our equipment for about $100.
We brewed up our first batch from an ingredients kit we got at the store. We did a partial boil.
Right now, the beer is in the fermenter coming alive. We’ll have to bottle it around the 17th of August, and then we have to wait until the end of the month to enjoy it.
A big accomplishment. Can’t wait to reap the rewards!
Got a quarter of the way through the choosing the photos I’d like to include, but lost steam. It’s still an intimidating amount of work before me: once the photos are chosen, I have to edit them and make the actually final cuts. We have over 120 gigs in images from our round the world trip!
I also missed out on a great 20% off promo blurb.com was running in July. I thought that would motivate me, but I missed out.
Back to work!
