Few tips if you’re trying this:
Carry a book with you at all times.
You never know when life will give you a chance to read, instead of being upset that I had to wait 30 minutes for my tires – I was rejoicing that I finally had time to read. :)
Put it down if you don’t like it.
Found that having something I was interested in with me really helped motivate me – I’m a bit of a perfectionist and like to finish what I start. It was hard for me to put down books that I didn’t like but then I would just procrastinate to not read at all and not start anything new. Finally one days I was able to let go of the guilt (I know it’s silly) of not finishing a boring book.
Have a wishlist.
Go to Amazon, Borders, or your preferred online retailer and use their wishlist function to keep a list of all those books that you hear about on blogs or by personal recommendation. Then, when you get the hankering to learn about something you have a list of previous recommendations that you can have to your door in a matter of days. :)
