How I did it: I had always worked with a friend on costumes for school plays, but I was upset because I couldn't sew anything myself. I took classes over the summer and read a few books on the subject to fill in the gaps. I made a tuxedo-themed dress, a homecoming dress, a cape for a friend, and a tie for my boyfriend.
