I moved into my condo a year and a half ago. I have exactly one picture hanging on the wall. That won’t do. I need to make this space my home, a reflection of myself. It’s easier said than done, though, because I’m scared what I choose to decorate with will be ugly and turn out to be a waste of money. But once I get my new sofa and TV and finalize the furniture layout of this place, I hope I can make it look more homey.

I moved to a new city about a year and a half ago. Earlier in 2007, I became friends with a girl at work and it wasn’t until we started hanging out that I finally started to feel settled. It’s not like we’re best friends, but she includes me in things every now and then and I’ve met some really nice people through her. It’s a step up from where I was a year ago.
So I told her that I was glad we became friends and I valued her friendship. Via an email. Not the best way to do it, but for someone who plays things as close to the vest as I, it was still a big step.
I tried snowboarding this weekend. I fell on my ass a lot, my back and arms are sore, and I think I might have cracked a rib, but it was fun. I cannot snowboard, but the important thing is that I want to go again. Like everything in life, you have to take baby steps. And I have a goal to get better at it. Being competent is around the corner, down the street and around another corner, but I know the destination and it’s in sight. That’s all I can ask for.
