- I’ll never achieve THAT technique
- i started too late
- etc, etc…
so, few words.. its never too late! and you dont necessarily NEED to be the next van halen! and if you do, learn its a long way!
people often forgot that music isnt supposed to be taken seriously. in my opinion there’s three types of guitarists:
1- the one that want to achieve lightnin speed picking
2- the one that want to play some songs at a camping
3- the one that have fun no matter what.
the common musician mistake is that evryone wants speed! like that’s the most important face of the guitar. and the biggest mistake is that people forget that guitar is also a musical instrument! its not to just look cool with it hangin..
eric clapton can play at really high speed! he just doesnt. because he doesnt need to.
malmsteen plays at incredible speeds! and he is also boring…
its not a coincidence people still cheer and scream when the first simplest chords of “smoke in the water” fires up! and hell! thats only power chords, minimum speed and effort. it takes more that technique!
