I finally sat down with three guster songs and my guitar and learned them all – “Demon” “Medicine” and “Grin”. The guitar parts were simple—it was mostly the vocals that challenged me. There’s so many long notes to hold. All in all, it was fun!

One night I got so angry with myself about being vain about my hair that I just took a pair of scissors, a razor, and a bottle of Nair, and basically went from shoulder-length shiny dark brown hair to bald as an egg.
I didn’t start to miss my hair until two weeks later when it started to grow back. By that time, I was rarely without a pair of hands petting my head. Most people at my school commended me for my “bravery”. My mom hated it and took me out to buy a wig (which I only wore a few times).
As my hair started to grow out, I realized how much I’d enjoyed being bald and thought about growing it back out. That was back in January. Now my hair’s grown out a bit, yesterday I put it in pigtails for the first time. It looks cute and natural and I love it. I’d probably shave my head again if I felt like it. Once that first snip of hair falls to the floor, it’s much easier to go through with it.
