In 1957, writer George Stewart set out to drive as far north and south as possible from the continental US. He made it as far as Circle, Alaska and Santa Isidro, Costa Rica. He wrote about his journeys in NA 1. I would like to drive from Prudhoe Bay to Tierra del Fuego. I don’t know if there are connecting roads between Panama and Columbia, but I want to give it a try. I would like to write a book about the journey and see it published.

I missed my chance in 1983

I spent two weeks in Alaska in the summer of 1983. Amazingly, I was unable to see the northern lights. The long days and heavy cloud cover made the lights hard to see. I want to go back and see them.
Perhaps when I retire...

I’ve always dreamed of walking across the US. I thought it just a pipedream until I met a guy who has done it many times. Mark D. (aka Perfesser Creekwater) has been a real inspiration.
