pay for the person behind me in line

he he he… today when i was at the store there was a guy and a girl behind me in line. They each had a drink (at least one was a beer). I told the cashier that i would pay for their two items, and he obligingly allowed me to. As i was picking up my stuff to leave, the guy hands the cashier money… and the cashier handed it back, saying “it’s already paid for” and then looked at me. Then THEY looked at me, completely taken aback. They didn’t know what to say for a moment, and then the girl says “thank you”. I just nodded and suggested they have a great evening.

i am not sure if i feel good for doing something good, or if i feel something else. I’ll stick with feeling good. :)
