I’m rather proud of myself for this…though, admittedly, one of them is only a page long.
That one, “The Biometer”, is my favorite. There is a lot packed into it for commentary and symbolism…I wrote it a while ago, but since then I have taken a few classes in literature and so far they have only made me like it more.
The other is called “The Drinking Man and the Sweet-Talker”, and it’s just a fun piece without a great deal of beneath-the-surface action.
The one I’m working on, though, is a tough one. It’s a darker, more serious theme influenced by and sort of in emulation of the stories contained in the 1001 Arabian Nights. I’m not sure if I’m doing the intent justice. No working title…
I just need to stop being lazy and find more time to write!

I went with a choir that was collected by a Fine Arts camp. If you can get in on a program like that, it’s definitely worth it. Host families are definitely better than hotels…you learn more culture and more language, and you make more friends. However, it costs a lot to go. Someday I think I’d like to go by myself or with a friend. If you’re younger, though, (I was in high school,) it’s great to go with a group.

I’ve got three poems done (or close enough for editing, anyway) already. I have an excellent muse or two. However, there’s a lot going on in my life, and a lot swirling around in my head. I have a great view, if you like cities. I do.
Topics that I’m thinking about, at this very moment:
Big cities
A boy named Jeff (about whom it’s possible that I could write an entire collection)
Clouds and fog
Crowds
Houseplants
Physical pain
Windows
So far, (for this collection, anyway,) all I’ve got are two poems about a boy named Jeff, and one about pain.
I asked Jeff what he would do if I published a collection of poems about him. I don’t remember what he said.
