7) The Idaho Panhandle was originally created when the Montana Territory was organized from the Idaho Territory in 1864.
When the seat of territorial government was moved to Boise from Lewiston in late 1864, it was thought that the panhandle region was hard to govern. A proposal was made to make the northern part of the state its own state. The proposal failed, but was attempted again in 1901. This time it was proposed to join the panhandle with Eastern Washington to form the “State of Lincoln”, but failed a second time. As an olive branch to North Idaho, the University of Idaho was placed in Moscow in 1889.
To this day, Northern and Southern Idaho remain very different. It is not difficult to find locals who would support separating into two states. We are still divided.
8)In Idaho law forbids a citizen to give another citizen a box of candy that weighs more than 50 pounds.

1) Idaho is the13th largest state in the U.S.
2) Idaho produces 72 types of precious and semi-precious stones. Some of these stones can be found nowhere else in the world, which is why our great state is known as The Gem State.
3) Idaho is a beautiful state which is next to Washington and Oregon in the Pacific Northwest. Idaho covers two time zones, runs from Canada to Nevada, and encompasses the western side of the continental divide of the Rocky Mountains. Rivers, mountains and farmland dominate the state’s landscape. The panhandle has emerald green hillsides, timbered mountains and pristine lakes. Central Idaho is covered with jagged peaks. The Snake River Plain, with its wide open vistas, irrigated farm lands and vibrant cities forms the character of Southern Idaho. You will find almost every climate and terrain in Idaho.

7) I love the Beatles. The day John Lennon died is one of those days that sticks out. I remeber where I was and what I was doing when I found out.
8) One of my greatest peeves is hypocracy. Our world has too many hypocrites, and that behavior makes me sooo angry!!! Grr.
9) I strive to live my life in a non-judgemental way. I still judge, I don’t think one can get through life without making some judgements, but I try to live with an awareness of judgemental thoughts. When I start to judge someone, I try to open my mind and heart, and think of what that person’s perspective, or story, or reality is.
10) I have an aptitude for computer programs. This aptitude alloed me to become a clinical analyst in our hospital. I am glad for that job and the experience it gave me, but it wasn’t sustainable. I belong at the bedside with my patients.
