... it was last September 8, 2006 for an event called Steady, where there are DJs in the house (of God) and we had to have a “bar” called “The Well.” The Well wasn’t a big bar and that day, I had lots of things to do… but I love doing this!
The challenge was to make mixed drinks without alcohol. (Ok… so most of the stuff I do like in bars have alcohol. I’m not a big drinker and I never got drunk… I know how to pace between drinks hehe… but of course, I can’t expect everyone in church to do that.)
I’ve found some mocktails online but not those kinds I like. Or if I did like them, some people didn’t. It was a big risk. Until the event director, Migs, told me that Joby, the pastor’s wife, knew how to make some. I’ve got her recipe online called “Sparkling Sunrise”—the mocktail version of tequila sunrise.
It was a hit so far. And the advertisement of the drink was that it was “driver-friendly.” hehe! The only other things I added was a drink called “Amazing Grace” which was lovely lovely rootbeer float that had a special name. (People liked it!)
The best part of course was to be able to contribute to an event that glorifies none other than my Saviour Himself! The event was so great… who’d ever think we’d have DJs in church? But we didn’t do this to challenge anyone or anything. It’s not to prove that it cannot be done but that doing anything for God has got to be one amazing experience.
I’ve always wanted an adventure with God… and this is one of them!
