Today I prepared for my fast, eating only raw fruits, veggies, and whole grains. I had oatmeal for breakfast with raisins, walnuts, soy milk, and a little agave nectar in it. I feel great, very clean and energized. I am vegan and so I think it was easier for me to prepare for my fast. I bought some 100% fresh carrot juice as well as local fresh 100% apple juice to drink for my fast. I will also be drinking bottled water, fresh squeezed juices, herbal tea, and vegetable broth. My fast begins tomorrow (January 22 2007) and I feel good about it.

I always hated meat when I was young. I refused to eat anything meat-ish when I was a kid and it drove my parents nuts. When I was about 18 I became vegetarian (and by the way the true definition of vegetarian is someone who doesn’t eat ANY meat, foul, fish or otherwise) Then I met someone who was vegan and it changed my life. I was already lactose intollerant so it was easy to give up dairy. That was May of 2005. I am an ethical vegan, I don’t purchase anything that has animal products in it. I feel much more healthy, energized, clear headed, and calm. I have lost weight on the vegan diet (2 sizes) and I continue loosing weight. I also took up yoga, belly dancing, and going to the gym on a regular basis. My life is more meaningful to me now that I am vegan, and I am reading more about it right now.
