Brought Mr Shu, a new possible marketing partner, to meet the MD. We’ll see how he performs.
I stumbled across some fliers on Reiki way back a long, long time ago, but I dismissed it, thinking that it’s a very expensive way of getting some fluffy, intangible stuff. Then, after many years, someone opened a Reiki Center at a place I regularly go to, yet I still ignored it.
One day, without any pre-conceived plan, I went up a mountain to meditate. At night on the mountain, I went to a small town where there was a cybercafe and found someone over the internet to attune me to Reiki over distance.
When I came down from the mountain, I popped over to the Reiki Center to get a one-to-one attunement. The Master looked at me in disbelief and asked me a few penetrating questions about Reiki before he was convinced to open up the iron grill and let me in.
The first night after the attunement, I felt tinglings in my finger tips in the small hours of morning. With some practice, I found that I can let others feel this sensation from my fingers without touching them too.
After several months of practice, the Master allowed me to take the 2nd Step attunement. He also thought me the symbols although I’ve read about them on the Internet. There is a big, practical difference between reading about them on the Net and taking them from a Master. The personal touch is very important.
I was allowed to take a Provisional Master attunement after a couple of years. During this time, I would go and meditate with the Master in ridiculous places, but he was still not convinced enough to allow me to become a Full Master.
It was only after many requests and 5 years that the Master was fully convinced that I am appropriate to go for the Full Master. He also passed me the Master Symbol at the event. A Reiki Master can attune others to Reiki until they become Masters in their own rights, and my Master wasn’t going to pass on this ability to those who would use them blatantly or for commercial purposes.
For those who are pursuing the same path, I strongly encourage them to persevere and keep their spirits up. Practice the precepts of Reiki and be mindful about them. Study the tenets of your religion or Beliefs, or Buddhism, and try to live them – the Spiritual part. You know what they say about the difference between Religion and Spirituality. It is through this that one’s closeness to the Reiki is developed. Oh, and practice regularly.

It’s a flu day, but addressed a new opportunity today in data communications. Showed the main contractors how they can simplify their design and reduce the number of components used. They are keen to meet over the weekend.
After almost 3 years of tractionless effort in every direction, we’re finally awarded the 6 million contract we’ve been fighting for. It means a lot to us, in terms of growth and survival. Now it’s time to work and justify our customers’ faith.
Although we have good products and an experienced technical team, our drawback had always been the lack of a strong marketing and sales department. A pretty good candidate came our way during the week and today we had a good chat checking out one another.
He had a track record in penetrating accounts and had established a network of customers in one of our target industries. He has no qualms picking up knowledge on unfamiliar territories and appear to be capable of complementing each other.
If all goes well, hopefully he will be joining us and help us close this critical gap in our team.
In order to focus, you have to be emotionally engaged with what you are doing. The more emotionally engaged you are in it, the stronger your focus. You may have to see things in a different perspective to like doing what you do. Habits have a big impact too, as it creates inertia to stay out of focus. Getting into the grove is the way to get started.
Am using these apps to measure my efforts
Met a long time friend last night. He had some new initiatives and we made some initial exploration.
Have worked on this tough document for 3 days and 2 nights, and today pushed for its finalization during a meeting so that we can send it for the final process.
Met on the small year end project that’s coming up and was briefed on next moves. Discussed and delegated actions.
Still 2 major outstandings -
Something for TW, revise the paper for TM and the answer to LM. TW and TM are ultra urgent, especially TW.
Managed to cover about 5-6 pages this afternoon. I am really not having enough time to pursue the reading on a persistent and continued basis for now.
All the kids are back from College and we have a full house today. I can only manage to show my continued love to the growing up and still growing children in small, little ways today – got a return flight ticket for my daughter to visit her mum next week, went out for lunch with the family at a simple chinese restaurant and planning to hold a modest barbeque dinner tonight.
With market awareness gaining momentum, we are hard pressed for capable resources to complete our sales cycles. Last night I stayed overnight at the office to ensure that we complete a request from a client that is important for them to work out their purchasing budget, which will lead to their purchasing decision.
Spending my son about 1 hour to teach him about levers was the way to show my love for him last night
Had half a day’s meeting with a new business ally. The chemistry looks good and we seem to complement each other.
