How I did it: Step 1: Start running. There is no Step 2. Seriously, though, I just started going to the local high school track once or twice a week to run. I started out mostly walking and ran short distances till I was out of breath. After time my endurance built up so I could run further. Last week I was roadtripping through the Oregon coast. One day, while stopped at a lighthouse, a man in a Hybrid pointed out three water spouts out on the horizon. Sure enough, I could see three distinct funnels, though they weren’t touching the water anymore. So technically, I have seen a tornado… but I’m still holding out for one of the big, land-based, rip your roof off tornados.
