So I went to the clinic yesterday. The procedures took almost all day (for the 3 of us involved). First of was the counseling which went pretty easily she was a lovely woman and very easy to talk to.. I shared the concerns I had (there aren’t many)but basically I m afraid of being resented at some point by B, even though I know shes grateful and overwhelmed that I want to do this. I shared this at the session and she said it was a very natural emotional/honest reaction and that I should not be afraid of feeling it etc.. Also she really helped me with the language of what Im doing and what I am etc ‘a genetic doner’ no more no less and for those words Im grateful because the last thing I want to do is say the wrong thing and make anyone uncomfortable.
Second thing on the agenda was the tests… blood .. omg they took 8!! viles I went wobbly when I saw them. At the time the woman said oh yeah its alot of blood .. and I was like “um actually i dont want to know that thanks” . Anyway I did not die/faint/throw up so thats cool. Then finally an internal scan which was fascinating (I was ovulating so I saw an egg on one side)so know I know how my insides look.. Anyways I have to take more blood tests in a couple of weeks to test my hormones and the in a month or two the real business begins!
1) Slept in my own bed last night! Finally some sleep :-).
2) Tax bill is not scary :-)
3) Good chat with my friend on the phone.
