I went to a loctitian on September 12 and began the process of locing my hair. I am loving the journey so far. I have been natural (without chemicals) for 8 years but was not ready to loc. My hair is thick and coily, but the inidvidual strands are fine, so all that daily manipulation of my hair was doing it no favors. I resisted locing because I love afro puffs so much. It finally dawned on me that I could still wear my beloved puff if I had the urge. I’ll just pin my hair down and add a fakey :0) With all the loc styles I have been seeing, I don’t even know if I will crave my puff anyway.

Starting on October 1st I will drink only water. Considering that I drink Sweet tea for breakfast, a large soda for lunch, soda for dinner, and at least another soda during the day for good measure…this should save me several hundred calories. If I am doing my math correctly…it should save me 660 calories a DAY! Goodness! I should be skinny in no time ;0)
I’ll do a little experiment
660 calories X 30 days = 19800 calories
3500 calories = 1 pound
So I should be at least 5.66 pounds lighter at the end of the month. Hmmm… I bet it will be even more since soda makes you retain water. I’ll make sure and report along the way.
I did stay at home for 3 months after we brought each of our sons home (they are 5 and 1), but this will be the first time since I was 16 (I’m 35 now) that I haven’t had paid employment. I know it will take some getting used to, but it will definitely be worth it. December 15 is my goal date for last day working with my current employer.
I am already looking into activities to keep busy with. I think it will make SAH a lot easier, if I am not physically IN my home all the time. I am really looking forward to this.
