I was the driver on our trip, and the roads were so narrow and winding that I had to settle for quick glimpses of the coastal views to avoid getting us killed. Allow time for lots of photo stops.

Sure, it's a gamble

...but that’s part of the fun! You never know what’s around the next corner. I’ve had some experiences that were real dogs, but they have been more than made up for by finding unexpected gems on the other trips.
Get off the interstate, and you’ll be surprised what you come across out there.
Start with a little at a time

I used to complain about not reading more, even though I had books stacked up to the ceiling that I wanted to read. My wife helped me break through by giving me some superb collections of short stories by leading authors. I found it much less daunting to commit to reading one story a night before bed than committing to a fat novel. But once the short stories got me back in the habit of reading regularly, the step up to longer works came naturally.
