i guess i meant 30. my doc thinks it might be the meds, but it might just be that i stopped paying attention. and stopped going to the gym. i’ve decided that this time around- instead of just counting my calories, i would like to try to change my relationship with food and my body. maybe i just way 165 lbs. now. i just want to be happy with both my body and my food. i can’t/won’t go down to 1200 calories a day. even if it would allow me to fit into my old size 4 jeans.

How I did it: thanks to pine tree legal advice, and having no children or real estate, things were pretty easy for me. too easy in a way that i think i have a greater understanding why people don't have the reverence for divorce that i think they should. anyway, i didn't need a lawyer, so i just filled out the paperwork, gave them my $65, and had my to-be-ex sign on the dotted line. 60 days later, we were in court before the judge, and the whole thing … Read how I did it…
How I did it: well, i'm not exactly catholic anymore, but i really like the idea of giving things up for lent. i think that it's as important to have periods of fasting, as it is to have periods of indulgence. i am a butter addict. i used to claim that butter was my favorite food until someone convinced me that it was a condiment, and that i needed to pick something else. now my favorite food is popcorn... because it's a vehicle for butter. anyway, i'… Read how I did it…
How I did it: i was raised by hippies, so my mom has been using reusable shopping bags for as long as i can remember. something clearly went wrong with my upbringing, because i grew up to be a plastic loving waste-aholic. not proudly so, but none the less... anyway, i decided to see what it was like to give up store bags for 30 days with no exceptions. at first, i was really bad at telling people not to give me a bag, and there was much irritated un-ba… Read how I did it…

wow. a lot of nancy drews lately. i’m a little obsessed. i’m curious to read the original early version of this one, as i have a distinct feeling that it was far less flattering to the gypsy population. you can almost feel where the racism was redacted and the “gypsies are people too” propaganda was pasted in. not that i don’t think that gypsies are people too, but it felt a little clunky in this particular package. however, there was a lot of cool doll imagery (poison dolls!) and gypsy culture that i think it would make a really good nancy drew pc game (you hear that her interactive?). i did get a little choked up when the daughter and father were reunited, but i always do.
this one was weird. super weird. something about a bunch of old ladies being held captive in a sanatorium by an evil fake doctor trying to steal all their money by keeping them drugged and promising them revitalization. and then there were carrier pigeons. my favorite part was when the woefully under-appreciated bess got a chance to don a nurse’s uniform and drive the getaway car.
