learn to cook a meal from each country I live in

and cook it well. Mastery is the idea here, not breadth, not doing it once and forgetting about it.

By “live in,” I mean for a month or more. I’m already 2 meals behind!

I don’t travel for culinary reasons, but I believe that skills (and friends) are the best souvenirs.



write a poem every day for a month
Fantastic experience 21 months ago

I actually did this for about 3 months. Some days I’d write more than one. It was a few years ago, and I’m not uite sure where any of those poems are anymore, but the ones I remember are mostly surreal, in a comic way.

This practice worked wonders both for my writing, and for my confidence in myself as a poet.

It’s not like I do this much as it is. I’ve had some lazy weeks lately when I’ve put off going to the grocery store, with no good excuse what.so.ever.
