new products

okay, so i’ve started on my new conditioner. so far i don’t notice a HUGE change…but i haven’t been consistent, still trying to use up some of the old products. still having some issues w/ tangles.
however, i have noticed a difference regarding shampoo use. before, my scalp had the tendency to sometimes get a little dry & flaky. not like, dandruff, but mildly irritated. (when it happens to my face, i just use moisturizer. often in the winter but occasionally during the summer too, when we have too many dry days in a row.) my scalp feels much better & is way less itchy. i guess the cleansers in my old shampoos really were a lot harsher than i actually needed! they must have been irritating my scalp, & i just never thought it was that much of a problem.
so well, so far i’m really liking this goal. it’ll be good for me.

i’ve been doing this for the past few months, as the guy i am dating is a beer nerd. however, i was doing this all passively, since i wasn’t really paying attention to what i was trying. he usually gets new beers at the store, just whatever looks new & interesting, & i usually try them too, so i figured that i might as well pay attention & think about them here! take note of what i like so i can go back for it.
besides, my 43T online buddy is doing it & all of his latest pics look so interesting…i suppose it will be harder for me since i am not traveling through belgium & france! (i am going to new england in a few weeks, maybe i’ll find some interesting ones there!)
i’m going to give myself a little start w/ one i remember that i probably won’t get to try again anytime soon. i’m going to count it, since i remembered it enough to look it up online later!
Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA
that beer is SERIOUS BUSINESS. i mean look at the alcohol content! john got this for me on a night in which he was celebrating getting a new job, & i only had one of these, b/c well, it’s all you should have if you’re not trying to go too crazy. (the guy in the video above recommends splitting it w/ a friend.) it was crazy sweet & tasty. i would drink it again in a heartbeat, though this time i’d pay more attention to it while i was having it.
so well, 1 down, 42 to go!
ETA: oh yeah, i’m not counting what i consider “boring” beers (like bud light or whatever) in this thing. not that i try to drink bud light EVER. but there are surely some disgusting cheap american beers i haven’t tried that would be new to me but definitely not cool enough for this list. =)

lately my hair has been more difficult to manage. it tangles much easier, & it hasn’t even been that long since i’ve had a trim. & the tangles are all over, not just on the ends.
i’ve been reading some forums & blogs about girls who have curls. apparently right now it’s all the rage to go for a more natural shampoo/conditioner routine. sulfate-free, as they say. basically, use less harsh products on my hair. & i know i’m not big on trends, but it’s kind hard to ignore the logic. not to mention their pics in which their hair looks much better than mine.
i’m cheap/lazy, so i gotta use up the rest of my non-natural hair products first. i ordered some fancypants conditioner (jessicurl), so i can’t wait to try it out. i’m probably just going to the store for shampoo, not spending as much money on that.
we’ll see how it goes.
