backup school 4 years ago

I’ve got my final list of places to apply – 5 are top-ranked, very competitive schools, and 1 is a “backup” school.

I feel really safe and relieved having chosen a backup school, because 1) It’s going to increase my chances of getting in somewhere and thus making my college plans more concrete, and 2) It’s a nice place and I’d actually really like to be there. Even if it isn’t as well-known it still has a good department and a good location.

The interview went well, and they said they’d call me back in like a week… they called me back a few hours later. What a self-esteem boost.
