Yet more sewing! (I really should expand this creative buzz into other areas aswell!)
Anyway, I was browsing online and found some lovely tops, which were very very pretty, but made my purse more than a little panicked. So I whipped out my trusty sewing machine, and in a couple of hours put this together!
I’m quite pleased with it, but pondering whether it needs some kind of embellishment on the front, perhaps a flower brooch from fabric scraps and beads in the centre? Hmm…

I hope to combine this goal with “do something new every month” and embrace oppurtunities to see new places, not only on far flung trips around the world, but on cities and areas nearby I’ve just never visited before for quick day trips.
Last month I went with Mr Raindrops to Cambridge for the day, and it was really nice. A very pretty city to just wander around, admiring the buildings, parks and the river, on a lazy sunday. It’s nice to see somewhere new, even if its nearby.
The next trip is somewhat bigger – interrailing around Europe! We leave in 2 weeks and I’m very excited. Brussels, Lyon, Milan, Verona, Split, Zagreb, Belgrade, Sofia, Bucharest, Budapest, Vienna, Munich, Frankfurt and Amsterdam. Any tips, hints or advice is much appreciated!

This is a goal I originally added on an old 43T account (deleted as part of my recent major life overhaul) but one which I continue to regard as very important.
I’ve bought myself a sketchbook in which I’m keeping my written record of all new things. I thought long and hard about how to keep myself motivated to continue this endeavour, and settled on a short message to myself in the front page of the book;
“Try new things. Go to new places. Meet new people. Keep life exciting.”
I’m now in my third year of doing new things, and it’s one of the best aims I have ever set for myself – simple, changeable and always interesting. I am far from finished with this, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
