My biggest hang up is with my Father. I haven’t seen him in so long, I actually don’t even know how many years it’s been since I last saw him. I think we are going on 4 years. It’s sad because we live in the same city. He is always asking my sister how I’m doing, but he can never pick up the phone and call me. A few years ago he wanted to see me for a holiday that was also his birthday, he wanted me to attend church with him and hang out as a family. Well, I called to say I couldn’t make it because of a work conflict. I left the message on his phone, actually called after work to follow up, called the next day to leave my number (which he has) one more time & to tell him to again give me a call so we can catch up and the man never called me back!!! He has yet to call me back. I was so hurt because I was fine with not having him in my life, then I went out on a limb to reconnect and he screws me. For awhile I had to deal with being rejected again and again by him. I could actually cry right now because the situation makes me so sad. I like to think I forgive him for the abusive childhood I had, but I really don’t think I’m over it. I have to work so hard to cope everyday as a responsible adult. My sisters and I all agree that it is a miracle that we are functioning adults because when I say our childhood was whack…I mean W-H-A-C-K, jacked up, if I told you stories you probably wouldn’t even believe me. Not forgiving him is the easier way to live my life, but I know not the healthier way to live my life.

Alright, I am going to commit myself to living a healthier life. Mainly with my emotional eating. My goal is to be thinner by X-mas. That’s 11 weeks to go and about 3lbs per week. That might be a bit extreme, but I want to concentrate on my goal and be done with my weight issue. I want to ring in the new year feeling really proud of myself for getting close or meeting my goal of x-mas.
