From the music to the food to the gracious hospitality of those who call it home, NOLA simply cannot be beat. I’ve gone down for JazzFest (late April-early May) nearly every year for the past 10 years. Would love to visit some other time of year (not deep summer, though!). For some reason I think Christmas time would be really cool there.
Without question, living in New York City is worth doing. I lived there my entire life and have just moved away because my wife and I and our son needed a lot more space. We now live in a house that costs the same amount of money to rent as our Manhattan apartment and that has five times as much space. I miss our friends. A lot. But strangely I don’t miss the city itself so much. I was ready for a break, to be honest.
