Today a pox be putteth upon the House of People Who Are in Denial About How Much Shit They Have (for instance, saying that they have a 10-by-10 storage shed full, when they actually have that [with a 15-foot ceiling and the shit is stacked all the way to the top] plus another half a storage unit plus some stuff in some guy’s basement) And Hire Someone Else (me, for instance) To Rent a Too-Small U-Haul Truck And Try To Fit Said Shit Into Said Truck (I got about 2/3 of it in, maybe) And Drive Said Truck From Denver (where I live) To Kansas City (where she lives) Which Would Not Have Been Quite Such A Horrendous Drive If I Had Been Able To Get Started on Wednesday Night But I Could Not Cuz It Took So Long To Load The Truck The Storage Place Closed Before We Could Finish So We Had to Come Back at 6 a.m. And Finish Loading the Truck And Then I Had To Drive For 13 And A Half Hours All In One Day, Through The Land of No Decent Radio. (I got paid, so it’s OK, but still, people need to not have so much shit, and if they do, they need to understand that they have a lot of shit.)
Also a pox today on radio preachers. Get a life, dudes.

A pox on the House of People Who Intentionally Fail To Pronounce the T or D Found in the Middle of Many Words. For instance, they say mow’-in, when they mean mountain; sir’-in when they mean certain; dih’-n when they mean didn’t (a double offense, for they also fail to pronounce the T at the end of “didn’t”). This is criminally lazy, and also commits the offense of thinking they are cool when they are not, by definition.
A pox on the House of Young White Males Who Wear the Cap Turned To the Side and Snow-White Sweatpants and Hoodie, With the Zipper Halfway Down, and White, $200 Sneakers, Untied, Especially When They Live in Denver, Colorado and It’s 28 Degrees Outside. You are not cool, you are not in the Bronx, you are not Eminem, and you are not black. Most of all, you are not original, and there is a special, painful hell for posers. Oh, and we are all laughing at you, perhaps only to gloss over our own feelings of embarrassment on your behalf. Do not come out again.

A pox on the following houses:
1. A pox on the House of The Natural Law That Dictates That We Can Have Either Money But No Time Or Time But No Money.
2. A pox on the House of the Person Who Broke Into My Apartment This Year and Stole My Laptop and My Wallet. You suck.

I have reached what I feel is a happy medium. I’m not a purist anything any more, and I’m happy with that (finally). Raw foods are great, but so is hot soup on a cold day. And baked potatoes.

I let them “cook” for 7 weeks, and opened ‘em up last night. Great stuff!

I have no money. I still need new clothes, though.

I actually prefer it to driving. It takes the same amount of time, but I don’t have to deal with parking, plus I get some fresh air and get my blood moving before work. It’s nice.

...My boss has two weeks to respond to my request (it’s a fairly formalized process at my company). We’ll see!

This has been on my list for a ridiculously long time. I have been stepping over clothes, papers, books, you name it, for weeks. It didn’t really take all that long to do the work, I just kept procrastinating forever.

I was a vegetarian for 16 years, up until last Thanksgiving. Now, the Year of Eating Meat is coming to a close. I think maybe I’ll have a little turkey this Thanksgiving - or maybe I won’t - and that’ll be it.

I called the Colorado Humane Society today and got the scoop on volunteering. Walking dogs, playing with the cats…. Makes me smile just thinkin’ about it. I will do a few hours on Thursday and/or Friday.

So I finished the whole Crest White Strips Premium Plus today, and, while my teeth aren’t that snowy bleached look I wanted, they are definitely less dingy and more shiny. I think I’ll try again in about 6 months.

So, I kept up this good new habit for the duration of the month of October (more than 3 weeks), so I’m going to consider this thing “done.” I think it “took.” If I start slippin’, I’ll have to add it back to my list, though.

Buying books usually means I read them (maybe), and then they linger around at my house forever. Getting them from the library means I read them, and then take them back so someone else can have a turn. Reduced clutter at home.
And if there’s something I really WANT to keep around as a reference or to re-read again and again, THEN I can go buy it.
Libraries are the below-the-radar Napster of the book world.

I’m at Day 5 of the 10-day program. It’s definitely working, to some degree, and with minimal sensitivity (to my gums). Pretty impressive, actually.

So, yesterday I shredded 3 heads of cabbage, layered them into my special little crock with a rather large amount of salt, added some salty water, put the lid on—and the lid has a trough of water around the top so that the gases can escape but no air can get in, and I have heard three “bloops” now, as gas bubbles escape through the water, which means the process has begun. Now, I just let it sit for 4 to 6 weeks. I don’t even know if I’m gonna like the taste, I just want all that good probiotic bacteria in my diet. We shall see….

I’ve got almost $20,000 worth of loans outstanding (Outstanding!), and I’m paying $134 a month, about half of which is currently going to principal. I don’t even wanna do the math.

Sold! Turn your unused “stuff” into cash, yeah baby! I’m inspired to see what else I’ve got lying around here…. Oh yeah, my CDs (one of my other 43 things).

I purchased them tonight, and am right now wearing the second set of today’s strips—the first of ten days’ worth. I can actually feel and hear the little peroxide bubbles seeping into my teeth. Quite exciting.
Not long ago, I attended a wedding, and photos therefrom were posted online, and in one photo in particular, I, wearing a very white dress shirt, was smiling big, and the difference in color between my teeth and my shirt was shocking and depressing. My teeth looked closer to a green or yellow or blue or something. Awful. I love a bright white smile, and want one for myself.
So here goes (I hope).

it’s gonna be worth it. I had my first session today. I just have an intuitive sense - a strong intuitive sense - that I have found the right person, that I was led to him, that he has the right method or the right insight, to teach me what I am now ready to learn. It seems as obvious as the sky being blue. I trust.
