Went on vacation, but I didn’t go anywhere. Saving money for moving to a new location. Perhaps when I’m all settled in my new place I’ll be able to take some time off and explore my new town. :)

How I did it: I needed to get a motorcycle endorsement so I could ride my 150cc scooter, a requirement in the state of WA. So, I signed up for a motorcycle safety course. I was on the bike and riding after the first half hour!If you want to ride a motorcycle or scooter, I highly recommend a safety training course. Not only will you get tips on handling and avoiding hazards, but you also learn about how to make yourself more visible to… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I've always been intersted in microlending, and was exstatic when I stumbled across www.kiva.org. It's such a great organization, and allows you to choose where your money goes. It does not gain interest, so it's absolutely not a way to invest your hard earned dollars. But, it's an investment in human lives. I only spent $100, and was able to help 4 people on 4 different continents with their small business companies. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Doctor told me i had an abnormal pap test. After a colposcopy (doctor looks at your unmentionables with a large magnifying scope) and additional tests, I found out I had precancerous cells on my cervix. Doctor decided to give me a LEEP procedure where they cut out the affected area. After further tests, I still had the bad cells. I then had a cone biopsy to remove the rest of them, for which I had to go to the… Read how I did it…

Pun intended there… I got a FitBit pedometer for Christmas. It’s about the size of a small USB drive. What’s really cool is it can monitor your movement while you sleep. It comes with a wristband that’s light and comfortable to wear to bed. The first night I tried it, it counted that I tossed and turned 19 times! I’m not getting the amount of sleep I thought I was. In order for me to get my full 8 hours, I’m going to start planning to be in bed for 9 hours.
FYI the device also tracks the steps you take, as well as the flights of stairs you go up throughout the day. You can also log your exercise and food intake on their website to estimate how many more calories you are allowed to eat. It’s quite a nifty little gadget.
2-ish years ago, my brother convinced me to be in his Rock cover band (www.360realms.com). Now I’m practicing at least twice a week. I may not know all the names of the power chords, but at least I can say that I can play now. :)
