I have all of the lumber I need. Now I just need to rip and plane it to the right sizes.

How I did it: My sister and I scattered our father during a backpacking trip in the Olympic Wilderness. I figured that since had expressed interest in retiring in Washington while he was alive, that that would be a good place to scatter his ashes. Originally, we were going to do one of the higher elevation loops, but the snow pack was so persistent this year that I ended up picking a lower elevation route along the Quinnault River. 50% chance that this will happen before July. If I bust ass on it, it can be done in time for our annual July 4th tradition of watching fireworks from Town Lake.
Last winter, I cut a ~4”x4” inspection hole in the drywall that makes up the ceiling for the closet in the addition with the inaccessible attic. I wanted to look for wires or anything like that. I turns out that there’s plywood decking on the other side of the roof joists. It’s not nailed down or anything, and when I push it up as far as I can (only a few inches) there appears to be radiant barrier on it as well. So no cabling in the family room for now. D’oh.
