How I did it: Now that I don't have the 9-5 obligation to go to an office and do work with people who don't even appreciate my being there, I have time to catch up with the finer points of the simple life. Everyone loves a cookie, and it's fun to whip up a small batch of something sweet to nibble on. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Everything just seems to work out. Once I left my job, I was able to get my priorities in order. Jim Merkel's book "Radical Simplicity" helped me realize there is so much more to life than working a high stress job in a race to make as much money as possible. There is nothing to fear and no reason to worry. What is the saying... "If you can change it, just do it, if you can't change it, there is no point in worrying about it."I have food,… Read how I did it…

Every day that I have coffee, I have debilitating acid reflux which causes asthma. I NEED to stop drinking the stuff. Why is it so hard to stop? It smells so good. Apparently, drinking coffee is also linked to heavier consumption of alcohol, which I could stand to cut back on as well. I can do it, I just need to have more discipline. It’s hard when someone else in the house isn’t trying to give it up… so it’s always around.
I applied for the program back in Oct of 08, and got in. Now that I’ve left my job, I have a ton of time to really absorb what I’m learning in the program. I’m looking forward to completing the program and starting the volunteer aspect so that I can meet people and be a more active part of my community.
So far, we have learned a TON. I’ve got a to-do and to-read list a mile long, which is exciting. It’s finally all coming together.
