The movie Dostana, Indian film but filmed here in South Florida. Lucky me! I was working as an extra for a Jum Carey movie when I heard about it, calle dup the casting guy RIGHT AWAY. Unfortunately, it was in the last week of shooting so they didn’t need any dancers, but they had a scene or two left for extras, so I jumped on that. Hell yeah.

How I did it: Got off my ass and voted. Ironically, my parents, who after years of resisting became citizens only a few years ago, were a big boost telling folks to go vote! Read how I did it…
We would spend about a month at a time. We went once the summer I turned six, then three years in a row when I was around 14. We stayed near the coast, away from the noise of the capital. It was great; got a break from pollution, from the noise and bustle of the states, even a break from English!
Then a long hiatus of 9 nine years, due to lack of money here and political craziness over there. Then, last December I got to go again, this time for a week in the capital. Probably spoke more French in that week than in a year of college-level French. And I had forgotten just how mountainous the country is – I don’t think there is anywhere in Haiti you can be and not see mountains. It was wonderful.
Definitely appreciative of the parents, but seriously, they can drive a guy nuts.
But realistically, this probably won’t happen for another 2 years. Gotta do grad school, which these days is far too expensive for anyone on their own. Staying home for now is the smartest thing to do financially.
