When? 8 months ago

As you can see, another of my goals is to lose weight, so these two goals are connected. I needed to think of something I can give myself as a reward to focus my efforts to achieving a difficult goal.
So this is my reward if I achieve my goal weight. Tattoos look better on slimmer people. Its a good reward, not like food, something which is thought of as a reward far too often.

I like tattoos to a certain extent on other people and never thougt I would want one on myself, as I thought I could never choose one thing that could sum me up, that could “describe” me to other people when they saw it, that would be another way for people to judge me.
But I do think a dragonfly would sum me up pretty well, especially as I know the symbolism behind it now. And as for other people judging me, if i had a tattoo which contained enough meaning for ME, and it was in a discreet place that not just anyone could see, then that becomes a non issue.

Why? 8 months ago

I looked up online what the symbolism of a dragonfly tattoo is, and thanks to Wiki answers, I now know why I feel this urge.
:
The dragon fly is symbolic for change and being okay with it.

Here is a story: In a little pond, there lived a little water beetle in a community of water beetles. In the muddy water under the lily pads, they lived a simple and comfortable life in the pond with few disturbances and interruptions.
Once in a while, one of the beetles would climb the stem of a lily pad and would never be seen again. They thought their friend was dead, gone forever. Then, one day, the little water beetle felt an irresistible urge to climb up that stem. However, he was determined that he would not leave forever. He would come back and tell his friends what he had found at the top. When he climbed out of the water onto the surface of the lily pad, he was so tired, and the sun felt so warm, that he decided he must take a nap. As he slept, his body changed and when he woke up, he had turned into a beautiful blue tailed dragonfly with broad wings and a slender body designed for flying. So, fly he did! And, as he soared he saw the beauty of a whole new world and a far superior way of life to what he had known before. He remembered his beetle friends and how they were thinking by now he was dead. His new body would not go down into the water. He wanted to go back to tell them, and explain to them that he was now more alive than he had ever been before. His life had been fulfilled rather than ended. But he understood that their time would come, when they, too, would know what he now knew. So, he raised his wings and flew off into his joyous new life!

The dragonfly’s shell is designed with special facets that reflect and refract their beautiful colors in the light of the sun. This almost sparkling appearance has given meaning to the dragonflies form. They have a mystical and magical symbolism. The dragonflies magic is the magic of light. The Japanese people have chosen to honor the dragonfly as a symbol of joy and new light.

In Native american culture the dragonfly spirit is the essence of the winds of change, the messages of wisdom and enlightenment; and the communication from the elemental world. Its medicine beckons you to seek out the parts of your habits which need changing. You can turn to the dragonfly to guide you through the mists of illusion to the pathway of transformation.

Its impossible 8 months ago

Yes, I think its impossible. Its a love hate relationship. My mini goal was a success, but after attempting to follow on with another one straight away I rebound badly and am only just starting to come out of it. I have eaten a mini snickers bar today. But yesterday I ate about 7 Oreo cookies late at night, which is the worst time. I really don’t know what to do with myself. Is giving up chocolate really the answer?
I saw on TV lastnight about celebrity diets and apparently raw cacao is a new fad going round, Choccie does have benefits, but obviously eating anything with lots of sugar and fat in, in large quantities is bed for you.
