I won’t be able to do the hike across the US for several years. I just don’t have the money. However I’m not going to let that stop me all together. This Aug and Sept. I will be hiking East to West across the state of IL. I will follow the American Discovery trail to the quad cities in Iowa. This should take a little over 2 weeks and 210 miles. Not a bad start.

I want to do this because it seems impossible. At least it seems impossible to everyone I tell that I want to do this. I always get a look from people and I know they are thinking that there is no way an out of shape person like me could pull off such a feat. Well I’m in the planning stages right now, the real problem is trying to come up with enough savings that can sustain life back home while I’m out walking for almost a year. any thoughs?
