I’ve lost 15 pounds, so I’m about 1/3 of the way towards completing this goal. I only starting seriously working on this in mid-November, so I think I have a fair shot at succeeding by my original goal date. I am not dieting, just eating ‘til “politely full” and keeping indulgence in holiday goodies to a dignified minimum. I don’t deprive myself of something I would really enjoy, although I do sometimes postpone such an indulgence for a better occasion. Moderation has been the only practice that has ever worked for me to experience a solid weight loss.

for some reason visiting my 43 things fell out of my routine… i haven’t been here for months! Now I only have 176 days to lose 43 pounds. That will be challenging, but I’m going to try to do it. I do NOT want more FAT pants!

I have been practicing the tin whistle more… nearly every day. I have a handful of whistles and I try to keep them nearby, including one in the car to play when I’m stopped at traffic lights. The notes are the same as my regular flute, so that’s been the easy part. It’s the breathing that is making me crazy… it’s harder than breathing with my flute. I still play rather terribly, but that’s okay with me. At least I’m progressing, wretched technique notwithstanding. ;-)
